Witnessed Waste & Destruction
Under DEA Title 21 CFR § 1304.22, any partial doses or expired controlled substances must be destroyed in the presence of two licensed practitioners.
Waste Workflow
Step 1: Initiate Waste Log
From the administered transaction, click Log Partial Dose Waste.
Step 2: Record Disposed Volume
Enter the administered dose vs. the disposed waste volume (e.g., 75mcg administered, 25mcg wasted).
Step 3: Second Witness Attestation
A second licensed practitioner must review the syringe / ampule and authenticate their digital signature / PIN.
Step 4: Disposal Method
Select approved disposal method (e.g., Cactus Smart Sink, Rx Destroyer, Denaturing chemical sink).
